First Post!

Well, after a lot of blog reading and friends doing it I've finally created my own to share and update friends with my life post-graduation.

A little about me...I'm 22 and just graduated from Texas A&M University (whoop!) with a B.S. in Meteorology. If I had a quarter for every time I've been asked if I am going to be on TV, I'd be rich! I've actually wanted to be a meteorologist ever since the 3rd grade, so I fought through the ridiculous calculus and physics classes to make this a dream come true :) Believe it or not, most of those on-air guys are not real meteorologists. I just turned down an opportunity for an on-air job in Michigan, so I will be staying in Texas working as a meteorologist for a private company that deals with aviation. Basically I give weather forecasts to pilots that fly private jets around the world. I start in July, so I'm excited to start a new chapter of my life!

I've lived in Texas for 13 years, but am originally from Atlanta, GA. My extended family still lives back east, so I still consider GA home (hence the name of my blog). I'm a strong Catholic still looking for the right man to come along. Until then I'll continue my prayers to two of my favorite saints, St. Joseph and St. Gianna. As Jillian from the Bachelorette puts it, "you have to slay a couple of dragons to get to the prince". I'm an avid golfer and love to play whenever I can (and whenever it's not 100+ degrees down here!) I also LOVE love love to cook and I'm obsessed with The Food Network, growing vegetables and herbs, and recently sewing. I'm a huge Chicago Cubs fan and my dream is to one day live in Chicago.

Well, guess that wraps it up! -- we'll see how this blogging thing goes!
