A much delayed post, but now that my work week is finally over I'm able to reflect on the awesome bachelorette weekend we had for my good friend C over Memorial day weekend.
It all started off with a drive up to Georgetown where I got to see my friend m! Georgetown proved to be a cute little Texas city with a quaint downtown that had that small-town feel. We had a great salad at a french restaurant (with a Vietnamese twist haha) and then awesome cupcakes from a cute little shop. Please Lord, make me a cupcake bakery owner in another life.
After the beautiful bride and her friends arrived we hit up downtown for food and then the infamous sixth street. It was my first time downtown Austin (being legal age) and it was a lot of fun! There is absolutely no way I could have survived as a UT student in that liberal of an area...it reminded me so much of the west coast. But it was super fun and a much needed change from Htown.
After we all left the next day I decided to explore downtown via my car (ie drive a few more blocks towards UT campus). I saw the capitol and the campus/football field...very cool. I was proud of myself because I did this on a whim and had no directions to get back to the highway from that area. Well, I eventually figured it out..and it felt very empowering to be successfully navigating around cities by myself. I can't rely on my GPS...it is extremely bipolar and yells at me to do U-turns at the wrong times.
As I was driving home, I was thinking about how lucky I am. I had no idea that 5 years ago when I somewhat reluctantly made myself go to a meet-and-greet at a Fudruckers for a Catholic sorority that it would start a path that led me to some of my best friends, and some of the strongest people I know. Strong, not only because they stand up for what they believe in, but strong because they're good examples to all they meet. They're the types of friends everyone wants and needs to have...and I'm so blessed to have that in my life. It was a sweet reminder that no matter the time or distance, strong bonds based around faith are hard to break. And now some pictures from our fun weekend!

LOVE all of the pictures! especially the keep austin weird montage haha
