My poor blog has been neglected lately, so I thought I'd write a post to catch up on the past few weeks. Life has been busy with work, grad school thoughts, and going out with friends (I've discovered Katy bars can be ghetto on the weekends -- kinda freaky!..just ask my poor friend Chris who had a stranger throw up on his car). Disgusting.
I had a good Valentines week. I made my family a Valentines meal consisting of a
meatloaf from B.arefoot's friend (apparently this meatloaf was a main dish at his restaurant, 1770 H.ouse). It was good, but nothing beats my mom's meatloaf recipe. I also made pink mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus, and
Giada's tiramisu. It was my first time making tiramisu, but it turned out really well and tasted good too. I have an abnormal fear of salmonella from raw eggs, but I was assured by Google that 1 in 20,000 eggs have it, so I took my chances and I'm glad I did. A delicious dessert and everyone was healthy and happy.

I also had my first grad school interview at Houston. I'm not sure if the campus (kinda scary down there - especially at night) and program is for me, but it's an option I'm definitely going to keep open and see what happens. I'd ultimately still love to get into one of my Chicago schools first.
My latest development has been with a company that does wx forecasting and lightning data. This company is based in Florida and is looking for a part time meteorologist to do golf tour forecasting. I am so excited because as a golfer this would be an ultimate dream job.
I am setting up an interview with the manager hopefully tomorrow so I'll know more information. I know I don't have to relocate, but there would be about 15 tournaments I'd have to travel to domestically and forecast for the players etc. What a way to see the country! If I got the job it would throw a wrench in my grad school plans, but since it's a part time job there may be some alternatives to explore with still being able to go to school. Time will tell, but I'm just trying to not get ahead of myself and walk by faith because I have no idea what will happen. Two days ago I didn't even know this could be a possibility. Several have interviewed already, so I'll have to see if there's even a chance.
Jeremiah 29:11 is definitely the verse for this situation I've gotten myself into!
I am so excited for you and all your interviews! And I love the pink potatoes! I'll have to remember that one.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the pink potatoes! Awesome! That would be great to have your dream job like that. Exactly how I felt about my temporary job with NOAA. I was working for a weather company but also using my MIS degree! It was heaven. So sad it was only temporary! Good luck with your interviews!
