Up, up, and away...

To jail.

I cannot believe this whole "balloon boy" saga -- and I will make my opinions known to the nonjudgmental blogworld. I think these parents are up to no good, I think the kids were coached in what to say, and I think the dad is nuts. As a meteorologist, I completely do not respect any wanna-be storm chaser who drives motorcycles into tornadoes to get scientific readings to prove whether or not his 'magnetic theory' exists, ESPECIALLY when he pulls his 3 kids out of school to go on these weather expeditions with him. I think they wasted media time, government money, and now look like complete fools. And what was their main motive?... to get their own reality show...what has this world come to?! Who uses a 6 year old to get a TV show no one will watch!! This ties in ridiculousness with Obama winning the Nobel Peace prize. I mean seriously, what is America turning into? What happened to the good old days when you could trust your neighbors and be content with simple things like Sunday dinners with your family. I'm glad these nuts are being investigated with the cost of up to $500,000 in fines and 6 years in prison. That crazy dad should go hop in his stupid space saucer and do as all a favor by leaving planet Earth!!!

Phew, now I feel better. Today has been a beautiful fall day!! It's weird how a bright blue sky & cool breeze can both be nostalgic and hopeful. It reminds me of football game weekends, clearing brush @ KTB retreats, picnics, elementary school acorn wars, pumpkin carving, and Thanksgiving, but at the same time it makes me hopeful that I will enjoy all those things with my own family some day.

This week I'm a relatively normal person! I work the same shift Monday-Friday. I had a morning this morning, so I'm glad I could enjoy the afternoon. This weekend I'm flying with my mom to Biloxi, Mississippi to meet my grandparents and gamble. Should be fun & our hotel is supposed to be awesome...and to top it all off, Amazing Race & the Next Iron chef is on tonight :) Life is good!
