Lots of random tid bits to share!!
Let's seee....
Work is driving me crazy. They are now telling us they're switching us to a 4 days on 2 days off schedule in April. That's better than working 6 days, but I'm super stressed because it will mess up vacation and days I planned to be off when I was working 6 on 3 off. Please let there be a job that wants to hire me in August (or September) so I can play this summer!!
Speaking of jobs, I've become rather bold and have sent my resume anywhere and everywhere I feel could need a meteorologist (the worse they can say is no, right?). I even sent it to the LPGA and PGA (golf associations) because I know they have meteorologist on staff. Well, turns out they actually responded to me today. They said they have a private firm that does it...so the hunt began. I found out the company that forecasts for them is in Minneapolis...boo, very far. I actually applied to them last summer, so I inquired some more to find out how those meteorologists get awesome jobs like flying around the world to forecast weather at tournaments. That would be so ridiculously awesome. Hopefully the HR lady tells me how they get to have such a cool job. All I know is, there's always a light at the tunnel and if you're motivated enough you'll find something that's meant for you. Mmm like owning a cake and pie store...yum
Speaking of sugary things, I have slipped once so far for Lent. Gosh, it's only been a week. My mom made these molten lava cakes because my brother had his first flight lesson, and naturally our Italian genes kicked in and we celebrated it with food. Mmm those little molten cakes were just too good to pass up. So oops, but the sugar did taste so amazing. It's been hard passing up chocolate and other wonderful looking treats! I forecast myself to stumble once again on March 2 when I have a lemon merengue pie for my birthday...that should be a written Lent exception though, right? :)
I joined a gym today down the street from my house...I'm really excited because it feels good to be back in a 'rec' like atmosphere. Running at the park is nice, but it just isn't the same. I like to watch TV/news while I run. Speaking of being outside....it was the KTB spring retreat this weekend it made me miss college even more! Although, after hearing about my friend's husband's near death experience in Oklahoma with a brown recluse, I didn't miss cabins and being in the wilderness so much. Oh yes, and it's supposed to snow again tomorrow, in Houston. Thank you, El Nino.
I feel like this a very random post, so I shall end it with a favorite of mine from Chicago. We had these the other night for dinner...I haven't always been a big hot dog fan but I love these!

Oh no! That better not interfere with me seeing Beth plans we have! lol Good luck on the job search! How perfect would that be for you to be a golf meterologist! And get to travel! Can I ask you opinion on the tiger speech? Believe or no? lol Have you had the molten at Chili's? It wasn't my favorite, but I had to try it after all the ravings I heard from people. Yours looks oh so much better, especially when homemade by Italians! I love gyms! They make me feel happy and productive! I missed KTB today too!!!! Definitely going back in the fall for former member BBQ! Miss you!! See you Sunday!
ReplyDeletei love when italian genes kick in... :) that looks awesome. ive never had a chicago hotdog...they look awesome on tv tho haha
ReplyDeletehow fun - that job sounds perfect for you :)
i love the little tvs at the gym - the tech rec has them attached to the machines so i watch the food network while running... possibly counter productive but its entertaining :)
