I had an awesome weekend seeing C and going to a movie and dinner with her, even though it started with an accidental trip to the men’s bathroom. We saw the Blind Side and it was such an awesome movie! Sandra Bullock gave an amazing performance and I felt the story line in general was really interesting and pretty incredible that it happened in real life.
I started thinking about the movie on my way home, and I thought about just how many things impact our life that come unexpectedly. It truly seems that things we’re blind to and don’t try to plan are the things that end up working out in the long run – and its these moments that weave the intricate web of past events that help define our future and who we are as a person.
Things like bonding at a freshmen orientation camp with someone who will become your future bridesmaid, or meeting one of your best friends in a Fuddruckers line…I guess it just reminds me that even though we can’t see what’s around the corner we have to believe it will lead to something good and not be afraid. It made me reflect on the fact that no matter how much control you try to have in life, things happen how they’re supposed to and cliché as it is, they happen for a reason…and with that ‘walk by faith not by sight’ mentality, I would like to state that even though it’s officially the eve of me becoming an old lady (23) – I truly believe that some of the best times of my life lie ahead.
On a non-reflective note some pictures from yesterday with my friends (you were there in spirit, M!) Prior to seeing each other, C and I had actually had the same idea of creating your appearance!
