I snapped these pictures of some of our garden outside...

Also this spring we our company had a softball team in a beer league. Our last games were Thursday and we lost both via the mercy rule haha ouch.
I also decided to act on impulse and actually go out after work last night. I tend to shy away from crazy bars b/c some of my coworkers can get crazy and it's just not my scene. However, last night I went with some of the tamer crowd and it was a lot of fun. We went to a bar right downtown called T.he F.lying S.aucer. It's a really neat place...3 of the guys I was with belong to this U.F.O club where they have to try all 200 beers that the bar has to offer. It's basically a big beer house with a ton of cool beers from alll over the world. If you complete the 200 beer challenge (you can have 3 per visit) you get your name on a plate on the ceiling. It seems like a definite guy thing to do. The place is filled with plates of people that have done this challenge up to 7 times! I had a vanilla stout from CO and a light beer that tasted like Fruity Pebbles. It was so weird/good! So anyways, we played cards and had a fun time. I think I'll be back...I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities as the guys are only on their 30th beer out of 200. They calculated the total cost to be about $1300 when it's all said and done.

I, however, would rather take that money and buy a ticket to the Masters tournament b/c it's about the same cost. Well, I better go drag myself to work where hopefully we'll be able to watch the golf tournament and we won't be busy. Seems like lately we've flown every famous person in the world into the Augusta airport. Maybe I can sneak onto one of their planes :)

i love the flying saucer! there's one near downtown austin. your plants look awesome. i tried growing peppers on my patio buuuuut no luck haha - i did get some basil and rosemary tho :) after you hitch a ride to augusta you should make a pit stop in lubbock :)
ReplyDeleteSoftball!! Fun!! It's okay, we lost our kickball game too. lol I love The Flying Saucer, even though I don't like beer. lol I think they have one in every city it seems. I know for sure Fort Worth and San Antonio (because we had a medical school interview social there lol). I have found some beers I like - ciders. Probably because they don't taste completely like beer. lol
