To all single parents around the world. I had the privilege last night of babysitting my 2 favorite cousins (2 yr & 6 months).
confession - this was my first time to ever take care of 2 babies by myself. It was exhausting! The 2 yr old was actually really good and helpful (she almost knew more than me when it came to the baby), but figuring out what the baby wanted & why it was fussing was a difficult task! I'm sure it'd be somewhat easier with a day-to-day routine for a mother or father, but being thrown into it was somewhat of a wake up call. I love babies and kids, but I am definitely not ready for them anytime soon. I'm glad I got the opportunity though because it just reconfirmed my feelings of a vocation towards being a wife & mother...just not in the next 6 months :)
We had a fun night..we played disney princess songs, played with our Cars cars, and watched a G.oofy movie (and E.ntertainment Tonight).

Aw how cute! Brett and I feel the same way...especially after we take our niece somewhere for the day. We enjoy the day with her but are soooo glad we can just drop her off when we're done with her. lol
ReplyDeleteFelt the exact same way after volunteering at the newborn nursery. We fed them, changed their diaper, burped them, and put them to sleep. Stinky!!! FYI formula smells terrible - that is what makes their poop smell soo bad! My first one was 4 hours old! Freak out! I was soo nervous I was going to break them. lol
