I've been so bad about blogging lately! I had a successful tournament in Mobile, AL and avoided all the devastating tornadoes. I've always felt that Houston and Atlanta are definitely 'southern' but this area was realllly southern. I finally comprehend southern hospitality -- and the food was amazing! Afterward, I met up with my mom and some family that flew into Biloxi, MS for a couple days for some gambling and early celebrating of Mothers day. After about 2 weeks on the road, it's an amazing feeling to go home. The last week here in Texas has been filled with seeing friends and running errands, and I'm back on the road again to New Jersey on Monday.
Not only will this be my first time visiting the northeastern U.S, but it'll be a first of many: renting a car, battling NYC traffic to get to northwestern New Jersey, and being the only meteorologist on site. I will have a coworker with me through Wednesday, but after that the rest of the week solely rests on me. *gulp*
Say a prayer because I'm extremely nervous and obviously just want to do the best I can while gaining respect from the officials and meeting new people. The threat of flooding rains almost every day next week doesn't help the situation...but it'll be good experience to get confidence for every tournament moving forward.
I guess I just gotta channel my inner-Oprah..command respect and rock it out. :)
I want to see pictures! That's awesome you got to see family too on your trip! You will kick butt next week on your solo forecasting!
