1.) Despite being the brunt of jokes, New Jersey is really pretty! (minus Newark). I guess they don't call it the garden state for nothing.
2.) New Jersey weather sucks. It has rained every day in some form - with temperatures ranging from 45 to 80.
3.) There are Italians everywhere - and I love it...and their pizza.
4.) Everyone I've met has been extremely nice! I have not encountered one 'brash' New Yorker at all.
4.) The NYC area highway system is insane and the potholes are at least 2 feet deep.
5.) In 4 hours I'll be done with my first solo tournament and I know the stress will be worth the sense of accomplishment. Even though the weather has been horrible it's given me the opportunity to meet a lot of nice people - and by the grace of God we've had no weather delays. I never thought I'd say how glad I am to go back to Texas, but tomorrow can't come soon enough!
Next stop: Springfield, IL.
the fact that you navigated the NYC highway system by yourself is crazy impressive. my dad was driving when i was there in march and we almost died about 12 times...
ReplyDeleteglad your first solo tournament went well! and that you're getting proper pizza while you're there :)
lol My grandma grew up in Newark. Not sure if it was the same back then though. I'm sorry the weather was crappy for you. It isn't always like that. There are a lot of everything there I feel. It's a very good representation of the melting pot. lol I'm glad you had a good time! Have a safe journey back home!
