Science Project - Part 1

TGIF - boy do those 6 days of work seem to fly by...one more night shift tonight and hello weekend!

Since the weather has turned "cooler" I'm starting to get anxious to plant my vegetables. The sun pretty much killed all our herbs except the basil this summer -- gotta love that hearty Italian basil. I planted rosemary and cilantro yesterday, and today I've embarked on a new project to start the seedlings for my vegetables (I'm growing green onions, onions, sweet bell peppers & cherry tomatoes). My uncle emailed me this "recipe" and it is the CRAZIEST thing I've ever heard of so I'm going to document it and see if it works!

So this is what I started with. A gallon of warm water, my vegetable seeds, 1 tsp of listerine & liquid dish soap, and one tea bag (I chose black tea).

Mix all together and soak the tea bag until water turns a light brown...

Place 2 paper towels on a plate and soak paper towels with water mixture. Sprinkle seeds on top and then place another 2 paper towels soaked with the mixture on top of that.

Layer the seeds and paper towels on different stacked plates and put in a dark room for 24 hours...

Tomorrow even more crazy steps --- such as baking potting soil in the oven @ 450 degrees...crazy.
