Golf week

This week has been full of my favorite sport...golf!

It started out last Saturday with my company tournament. My partner and I got 2nd place! We missed first place by 2 strokes! We shot a 74 and the winners shot even-par with a 72. I was apprehensive about being the only girl seriously playing, but we made a good team. My partner could hit the ball ridiculously far (over 300 yards) and I had a good short game so we were able to place second. Our prizes were a huge cooler and a $25 card to Saltgrass or some other various food locations. So fun and so much better than having to work!!

Last night my favorite golfer, Paula Creamer, who is number 4 on the LPGA circuit came to Houston. A golf shop in town was hosting a Paula Creamer night where she came and talked/signed autographs. I debated about going, but ultimately decided I couldn't miss the opportunity to see one of my favorite golfers. So my gracious dad (on his birthday) joined me and we went down there, saw her, won free tickets to the tournament they have this weekend, and got her autograph and a picture! It was so awesome! She's my age (23) but we started playing golf around the same time (11 yrs old)..if only I had been more determined maybe I would be making millions! haha not likely, but it was a motivating experience.

Lastly, this weekend is the LPGA Tour Championship played at the Houstonian golf club just south of my house on a beautiful exclusive golf course. We bought tickets to go Friday, but now have the free ones to also go on Sunday to see the last round. I'm so excited to be able to see these girls play in real life! Golf is a sport many don't understand, especially womens golf, and there are some girls out there that kind of freak me out with how tough they are, but it's just such a great sport and I'm looking forward to being in the middle of it this weekend!
