Feels like the rainforest...nope, just the Houston zoo

What a busy week it's been!  I joined 2 of my besties, C & M, at the Houston zoo.  Little did we all know that we'd get an authentic tropical jungle-like experience...gotta love afternoon downpours in southeast Texas.  I never realized how expansive our zoo is...it seemed to have every type of bird, reptile, or mammal on earth.  It was a cool place despite the heat and it's always great to see friends (and fun to see how many you can fit under an umbrella) :)

I've been super MIA from posting on my blog lately.  Nothing too interesting is going on and I feel like I've done a bad job in regards to taking pics/posting anything from my culinary world.  Rest assured, I'm still a foodie and watch the Food Network all the time (go Aarti on foodnetworkstar!), but I've been counting calories and eating rather boring food.  Pretty sure no one wants to see a blog post about no-sugar-added jello and turkey sandwiches :)

I also made the decision yesterday that I'm reapplying to business school.  It was a decision that had to be made as now is the time to start studying again for that horrible test.  My 3 months of cramming last year was a poor and desperate attempt, so this year I've got to give it a real shot.  I've realized the only way I can further my career is to get out of meteorology, and given the recession and lack of jobs, this is a realistic plan...and I definitely am a person that needs a plan otherwise I feel like I'm headed nowhere.  So on Tuesday I will be attending an informational where about 20 schools are coming to talk about their programs and hopefully that will give me some more insight!

Happy Friday the 13th!

  1. Definitely agree about the zoo - hot! lol I think if I didn't do medicine, I'd want to get a masters in business - either administration or finance. So excited for you!

  2. You should go into accounting like Brett did when he quit meteorology! Brett says "good luck!" :)

Also, I love the jellyfish picture! Those are always my favorite things when I go to an aquarium!
