Trouble in the tropics

The weeks just seem to be flying by!  I love the beginning of fall, and we actually had some nice dry air move in late last week which made Houston feel...well, pretty spectacular for late August.  The humidity and nastiness have returned, but I viewed that 2 day stretch of lower dew points as a preview for the fall months that lay ahead.  Yay for my favorite season :)

My online class for my G.MAT prep started last week.  What a cool thing that is..I sign into a class with a teacher, and we basically do everything via a chat room with my teacher being on a live video feed.  I tried to take a screen shot but it wouldn't let me...it was definitely cool though.  I have 8 more 3 hour classes like this and lots of 'homework' for prep and practice.  I love having a schedule..and my class was very diverse!  People were literally signing in from New Jersey, Venezuela, Chicago...even Saudi Arabia!

This past weekend was a busy one with several late night birthday & housewarming parties for some of my friends at work.  I've also concluded that any man under 30 at my work is super immature.  We've been busy at work routing planes around these crazy hurricanes..3 in the Atlantic and 3 in the pacific!  *nerd alert* Check out Earl..what a beauty.  I'm very concerned about this coming close to the northeast..the models keep tracking it right along the coastline, but the forecast path keeps moving west towards land.  Let's hope it misses otherwise NYC & Boston could be in for some real Labor Day trouble.

Speaking of Labor Day, I am SO excited that this is the first year I will not have to labor on labor day.  Unfortunately it's not because my job actually lets us off, like most people in the working world.  I luckily just have my weekend fall on Sat, Sun, & Mon.  I am excited to see some family in town (and to make Dora cupcakes for my 3 year old cousin..pictures soon to follow).  Hope everyone has a great week!
