Sweet thoughts

My friend and I checked out a new cupcake place about 10 minutes from my house...it was a little dessert boutique called oohlalas (check out their cool website)...it was sooo cute.  The cupcakes were hugeee but all sorts of amazing flavors like cherry limeade and smores and polka dot...ahh amazing.  My salary and thighs do not and cannot support this obsession. :)  Here is my poor quality iphone picture of the 3 we bought to feed 8 people.  This was also after my friend tipped the box so our icing was all smashed.  Oh well, they were still amazing.

I'm happy to report that my business school fair on Tuesday night went really well.  I was downtown for about 4 hours but it was really beneficial and helped me make some decisions.  There were several seminars and also some testing tips and tricks, as well as about 20 business schools there.  I'd say there were about 300 people who came all around my age, so it's going to be some tough competition...but I'm also not looking to get into harvard, yale, etc so I'm hopeful.  As of right now, I just signed up for a K.aplan course online where I log into a live classroom (only option with my crazy schedule).  I hope this helps me with the test and is a better approach than my independent studying last year.  Has anyone else taken a prep course for a big standardized test?  did it work?

And my last sweet thought of the week is I currently have something in my oven for dessert that smells delicious that you'd never guess what is is...it's orange...reminds me of football season and cold weather...yep, a pumpkin pie!  I feel like that poor pie gets gypped by only being eaten for Thanksgiving, so I'm breaking rules and making it in August..I'm such a rebel :P

  1. this whole post is delicious looking. i love your rebelliousness in making pumpkin pie in the summer :) i always have pumpkin pie for my birthday cake so i fully support this decision :)

i look a kaplan course for the LSAT. i had a classroom course for like 3 or 4 months. i thought it was pretty helpful, though. i felt like i learned the actual info and timing on my own but their strategies for weeding stuff out and tips for looking at the questions were helpful.

  2. yeah, mine is over the next 2 months...I have a feeling the more homework I do and practice tests the better off I'll be.

I'm glad you support my pumpkin decision..it's very Italian of us :)

  3. That cherry limade cupcake sounds amazing! What does a polka dot taste like?

I did Princeton Review or SATs (no one told me scholarships were based of preSATs, not SATs) and Kaplan for MCAT. I found them both really helpful. I love structure and a schedule so it's very helpful for me, minus I got a ticket going to PR (didn't know what an inspection sticker was, but mine was expired lol) and had to go through Dallas rush hour for Kaplan.

  4. Oh, and I love me some pumpkin pie!!! Favorite pie, besides French Silk (but that has chocolate so it's kind of hard to compete lol).

  5. hahah thanks christine :) My Kaplan starts Thursday so I'll let you know how it goes, but I'm big on structure too...so I'm hopeful.

What is french silk?? I need to google that..Cherry limeade was amazing..the polka dot was good too..it was more a regular cupcake with just a bunch of colors in it and then some huge gumball things on top. The other one was some sort of blackberry flavor. It was really good too!
